Focus on RescuesAs many of you know, for five years prior to opening the shelter in Edinburgh we ran a small animal shelter down in Surrey. As a shelter, we take on rescued and unwanted pets on a regular basis.
We usually have various types of rescue animals. We rehome them once they are in good health and they are comfortable with people. We'll update this part of the website with profiles of some of our rescues who are in need of a home. Bear in mind that we often have other rescues come in unexpectedly, so it's worth a call to see what pets we currently have available.
We are a strictly no-kill shelter. We only euthanise pets when advised to by a vet. If an animal comes in which is ill, it will receive immediate veterinary care and will be given all the attention and support it needs to get better. In some cases the cost of this care has run into the thousands of pounds, and we rely on donations to be able to make this possible. Vet bills are by far our biggest expenditure, so if you can donate even the smallest amount please do. Some animals are too old or too ill to find new homes, and in these cases the animal will live out the rest of its life with us, receiving all the attention it needs to maintain a full and happy life. These animals are available to be sponsored, and the sponsorship money is used to help fund their food, bedding, enrichment (toys etc) and vet bills.
