3rd Anniversary Fundraiser EveningOn Saturday 19th June the Paws Here small animal shelter will be 3 years old! To celebrate we are having a fundraising event that evening (that's Saturday June 19th, mark it in your diary!) at the Morningside Glory on Comiston Road. The evening will feature music and entertainment, with the vocal talents of James Allan taking us through the decades. There will be a raffle and auction on the night, as well as nibbles. Tickets are £5 each and are available at Paws Here and at the Morningside Glory pub, as well as a handful of other locations and right here on the website. Buy an Anniversary Ticket (if you'd like more than one, just alter the number on the next page when it asks you for the quantity you'd like to order): We are fundraising at this event for two very important causes. Firstly, we are fundraising to meet our ever growing veterinary costs for our animals. In the past few weeks alone we have spent over a thousand pounds on vet care for our rescue pets. Four of our rescued baby degus had to be rushed to intensive care to be treated for an as yet undiagnosed illness (fortunately they are completely recovered now). Rescue rabbit Stella will need expensive medical treatment for the rest of her life, and round the clock care - because of this, she will probably never find a forever home and will have to be cared for here. She goes in for yet another operation next week. And our big French Lop Basil has been diagnosed with pneumonia, meaning he will need a nebuliser daily for the next six weeks. He has already had surgery for his teeth and extensive medical treatment for his eyes and feet, which were in a very sorry state indeed when he first arrived here at the shelter. The second thing we are fundraising for is to convert a damaged and unused area of the shelter to a safe home for bunnies, allowing us to take on more animals and to give our current pets more room. As we currently have a waiting list of rabbits needing to come in and be rehomed, this will be of huge benefit. If you would like to come along to our Anniversary Fundraising Event then please do! There are a limited number of tickets available so do book soon or you might risk being disappointed. We very much look forward to seeing you there! |
